I just don't understand

I've stated this on my Facebook page and I'll state it here.
It's unfortunate that the Supreme Court decided to uphold Prop 8. Prop 8 is in violation of Article 1 sec.4 of the CA constitution, "The Legislature shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." CA has no legal grounds to enforce prop 8. Prop 8 is based on a particular religious belief. I really hate it when religious people try to legislate their beliefs on others.
